The visitor center is open five days a week, Wednesday through Sunday, 9 am–3 pm with a one-hour closure Noon–1 pm. At the visitor center, pick up park information, a map, and trail guides. Watch the 15-minute park film, which tells the story of Abraham Lincoln's youth. The film is shown upon request up to 30 minutes before closing. The Memorial Visitor Center also contains two memorial halls and the park museum which contains artifacts and exhibits that portray the life of Abraham Lincoln.

Join us on November 6, 2026 from 5:30–7:30 pm for a candlelight evening program at the Living Historical Farm, located within Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial! This program offers park visitors a glimpse of what it was like to live as Abraham Lincoln and his family 200 years ago in southern Indiana. Explore the peaceful, evening atmosphere of an 1820-era homestead, illuminated only by candlelight, lanterns, and the glow from the fire, watch demonstrations inside the cabin and in the cabin yard. Engage in conversation with park rangers and volunteers about pioneer life!
Though there is a fire lit in the cabin’s fireplace, dress for the outside weather.

STEAM Teacher Workshop

Looking for new ways to bring STEAM into your classroom? Join us for one or both stand-alone FREE STEAM Teacher Workshops!
These workshops will take place on December 3 and 4, 2026, at the park. Activities focus on Abraham Lincoln's early life and consist of different cross-curricular experiences.
Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial is partnering with Dacia Jones and Expeditions in Education to offer these workshops. Dacia, also known as Dr. Drizzle, is an internationally recognized educator who travels the country inspiring teachers and administrators alike to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math into everyday instruction. Come away inspired to incorporate STEAM into your classroom!
This FREE workshop is limited to 50 teachers each day.
